How to Play

Nurikabe starts with a grid containing numbered cells. Each number is an island that must contain exactly that many white cells, including the numbered cell itself. Islands cannot touch orthogonally. The remaining cells form a black ocean that must be connected and cannot contain any 2x2 square.

The puzzle is solved when all islands are correctly sized and separated, and the ocean is one continuous region without illegal pools.

Controls

Click a cell to toggle between white (island) and black (ocean). Some versions use shading instead of colors.

Scoring

Time and accuracy determine your score. Nurikabe rewards careful deduction over speed.
