- A two-cell cage with target 2 and operation + must be 1 and 1—but repeats are banned, so it is impossible. Check the operation carefully.
- Use row and column no-repeat rules to eliminate cage candidates.
- One-cell cages are freebies—place them first.
- For division cages, remember order does not matter: 6÷ can be 3 and 2 or 2 and 3.
- Look for cages that severely limit a row's remaining digits.
